The BJS is seeking contributions that critically reflect on leftist organizing against white supremacy and right-wing politics, such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter, BAMN, Redneck Revolt, etc. Submissions can engage with sociological subfields including, but not limited to, social movements, gender, race and ethnicity, politics, violence, and law.

Submissions should be limited to between 1,000-3,000 words. The submission period for this focus is open until December 20th.

If you are interested in submitting a paper addressing this topic, but will not be able to make the deadline, please contact the BJS and inform us of your intent to submit BEFORE December 20th. We are willing to work with authors on submission deadlines if you are in contact with us before then, but will not accept submissions for this focus from individuals we haven’t heard from beyond this date.

In addition to these rolling focuses, the BJS is always accepting general submissions. Please always indicate in the email subject line if your submission is for a particular focus or is a general submission.
